CONSULTANCY Editorial Strategist
Project Overview
The New York Climate Exchange seeks an editorial strategist to assist the Capital Project and Communications teams to spearhead the creation of a 30–50-page prospectus, or book, that will help external audiences understand and increase their engagement with the future of The New York Climate Exchange.
Key DeliverablesThe new, promotional book will feature an updated narrative connecting the vision of The New York Climate Exchange and the climate campus planned for Governors Island. This includes:
- Identifying, coordinating, and reviewing materials that support The New York Climate Exchange's narrative
- Writing text, headlines, captions, that strengthen and clarify The New York Climate Exchange’s narrative
- Working with the Communications Director and a graphic designer to identify visuals that illustrate The New York Climate Exchange's narrative
- Project coordination across multiple contributors
- Content creation and editorial judgment
- Copywriting
- Time management
- Able to collaborate across The Exchange, partner organizations, and other relevant institutions
- Recognizes the value of diverse perspectives and lived experiences and applies a critical lens to systemic sources of bias and discrimination
- Applies critical thinking and seeks input and experience from others
- Commits to a decision and acts once it has been reached.
Schedule of Deliverables
Weeks 1-2: Getting to know the organization through interviews and reviewing existing collateral
Weeks 3-4: Initial outline
Weeks 5-6: Apply edits and complete copy
Weeks 7-8: Final edit and optimizations
Contract duration
2 months total
Location: Remote, must be available to join occasional weekday meetings in ET time zone.
